Dr. Ricardo Mendoza

Dr. Ricardo Mendoza“Dr. M” is our pediatric dentist (He also teaches at the Pediatric Dentistry Dept. College of Dentistry at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC))

Dr. M obtained his DDS degree from Central University of Venezuela in 1990, his Pediatric Dentistry Specialty degree from Boston University in 1995, and his Fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry and Hospital Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997. Currently he teaches as a Assistant Professor at the Pediatric Dentistry Dept. at UIC, and also in the General Practice Residency at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Depart. of Dentistry.

"Dr M" is very social, he likes having tons of friends. He has been co-charing the Special Olympics - Special Smiles Program in Chicago for the last 14 years, this is a passion of his, working with children with some kind of special needs.

Dr. Anthony P. Eltink

Dr. Anthony P. EltinkDr. Eltink is a native of Wisconsin, and stayed in the Midwest for his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) as a double major in psychology and pre-professional studies from Notre Dame, Dr. Eltink continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated as the valedictorian of the class of 2002, receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree and earning many high honors and awards. Following his dental school graduation, Dr. Eltink moved to Chicago so he could continue his studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Orthodontics. There he completed his three-year residency in orthodontics and obtained his Master of Science (M.S.) in Oral Sciences.  Dr. Eltink lives in Chicago with his wife Adrienne and his son Oliver.

Professionally, Dr. Eltink stays actively involved in orthodontic education as a Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He oversees patient care in the orthodontic clinic, and teaches courses in orthodontic diagnosis and technique to orthodontic residents and dental students. Most importantly he keeps his knowledge of the newest concepts in orthodontics current through his role as an educator. Dr. Eltink enjoys making music and is an avid guitar player. He also loves running, traveling and SCUBA diving. He and his wife are adventure enthusiasts and are always looking for their next adventure. Past adventures have included "swimming" in Lake Michigan on New Year’s Day (Polar Bear Swim), learning how to trapeze, bungy jumping, solo skydiving, caving, white water rafting the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon and hiking an advancing glacier in New Zealand.

Dr Eltink enjoys fixing and repairing broken or malfunctioning devices or appliances, and this skill has been put to great use in the office this far. He enjoys traveling abroad with his family and has been great efforts into learning Spanish since he join our team.

Dr. Rodney Vergotine

Dr. Rodney VergotineDr. Vee, born in Cape Town, South Africa completed his dental degree there in 1986. He came to the United States to complete his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from his specialty training program in 1993. Then he was awarded a fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From 2002-2006 he worked at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin before returning to Chicago.

Currently he is Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Dental Residency program at UIC. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and President-elect of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists. Dr. Vee and Dr. Mendoza have been working together in various capacities since 1995.

Dr. Vee lives in Oak Park with his wife Leah and sons Jared and Zak. His free time is spent with his family especially doing sporting activities with his boys. Traveling is a passion of the entire family. Getting out and playing tennis with his friends is a passion he has had since a young child in South Africa. He is definitely not the next Nadal but can get the ball over the net on occasion.

His professional motto is – “Every child is unique in their own way, giving them your very best is the only option”.

Dr. Justin Welke

Dr. Justin Welke, DDS

Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Justin is a graduate of Northwestern University where he was an Evans Scholar and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. After Northwestern, Dr. Justin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Following dental school, Dr. Justin obtained specialized training in pediatric dentistry through the hospital residency program at UIC. While at UIC, he was taught how to deliver specialized dental care to infants, children, and teenagers. Additionally, he has experienced hundreds of hours working with medically compromised and special-needs children.

Dr. Justin is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the highest level of distinction that a pediatric dentist can achieve. Additionally, he has the honor and distinction of being a Clinical Professor in the Post-Graduate Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital. Dr. Justin is on staff at Illinois Masonic Hospital and is also fluent in Spanish.

When he's not caring for kids' teeth, Dr. Justin enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Chicago, boxing, running, biking, and coaching youth basketball!
